Early one Saturday morning, I spotted Post Malone’s iconic, guitar-smashing photo on his Instagram account and instantly recognized his shoes. I emailed our social media team that we needed to reply, pronto, with one word only: Classic. (The shoe’s name is the Classic Clog.) That reply got thousands of likes and sub-replies. Weeks later, I had the chance to create a pitch deck for what would become a wildly successful partnership. I can’t share the rest of the 13-page deck because some parts are confidential, and other parts are just boring.
