During my 7-year tenure at Tommy Bahama, I helped create a TON of content. Thousands of emails and subject lines, but only dozens of promo messages. A video about coconuts. Brand catalogs. Articles. Celebrity interviews. A video about paddleboarding. Product copy… so much product copy. A branded edition of Monopoly. Positioning statements. Cinemagraphs. Product names. And puns… lots of puns.
But one of my favorite things I wrote there was “The Legend of Tommy Bahama.” Fun fact: later deemed too risqué, the first paragraph originally ended with the sentence, “He landed the fish and lost the trunks, but not in that order.”
